Working from still life setups we will focus specifically on how to simplify complex forms by squinting, following a clear value pattern, and thinking in geometric forms. We will also discuss selecting still life subjects and arranging them simply to create beautiful compositions for painting. Students will work in an alla-prima or wet-into-wet style, which builds confidence and painting skills quickly. This workshop will be an illuminating and inspirational introduction for the aspiring flower painter. All experience levels are welcome.
