DRAWING
Learn drawing fundamentals that will serve as the foundation of all your art work. Learn to break down a scene into shapes, drawing from large shapes to small shapes. We cover tone, composition, proportion, flow and value. Media used is charcoal / pencil.
TUITION
4 - Consecutive 3 hr classes per month: $180

WATERCOLOR

PORTRAIT DRAWING / PAINTING
Students learn to break down the portrait with emphasis on understanding of shape, value and edges in order to render a three dimensional likeness.
Students paint from both portrait images photographed specifically for the Hippo Factory and a live model session at the end of each four weak workshop. A limited Zorn color palate will be taught.

SPRAY PAINTING
Learn the tools of the trade. How to hold the can correctly, nozzle choice, design flow, shading and composition.
Graffiti Art is an introductory course that focuses on familiarizing the artist with the forms and conditions under which Graffiti art is expressed and created as well as spray can painting techniques.
PLYWOOD PROVIDED
If you want to keep your painting there is a $15 plywood charge.

UNINSTRUCTED MODEL DRAW / PAINT
Our models are contemporary, edgy, dressed to reflect the times we live in. Think Coachella, burning man, NY street. Some models will be without clothes or will be wearing very little clothing. 3-hour pose will be alternated with a session of short poses - this might change depending on demand.
